VP Pence Outlines Trump Administration’s ‘Space Force’ Program

Earlier in the year, President Trump surprised the nation when he announced his plans to launch a sixth branch of the US Military, which will be known as “Space Force.”

The program is set to match actions taken by countries hostile to the United States and is set to establish America as the most dominant military force in outer space.

On Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence touted the program, and announced that the US “Space Force” is slated to be operational by 2020.

Mentioning Russia, China, and Iran, Pence stated that “our adversaries have transformed space into a warfighting domain already, and the United States will not shrink from this challenge.”

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we will meet it head on – to defend our nation, and build a peaceful future here on Earth, and in space,” added the Vice President.

Citing a new report from the Pentagon, Pence said that the “administration will soon take action to implement these recommendations, with the objective of establishing the United States Department of the Space Force by 2020.”

Later on Thursday, President Trump took to Twitter to enthusiastically promote the upcoming Space Force program, saying, “Space Force all the way!”
