President Trump and Melania Deliver a Message to US Soldiers on Thanksgiving

Today, on Thanksgiving Day, President Trump and First Lady Melania visited U.S. Coastguardsmen stationed in Florida, as the First Family spent the holiday at Mar-a-Lago.

While visiting Coast Guard Station Lake Worth, in Riviera Beach, Florida, the President Trump and Melania passed out food to the servicemen and women, and heaped praise on our American heroes.

The president talked about the heroic efforts of the Coast Guard during Hurricanes Irma and Harvey, which devastated Florida and Texas, respectively.

“It is an honor to be here,” said President Trump, “The Coast Guard– always respected. But, if you were looking at it as a brand, there is no brand that went up more than the Coast Guard with what happened in Texas,” he said.

Trump also discussed the state of the country, including the recovering economy and job market, the Stock Market’s unprecedented highs, Supreme Court victories, and a focus on helping our military.

“You’re very, very special people. It doesn’t get more special,” President Trump told the crowd of soldiers, adding, “You folks are fighting so hard, and working so hard. And it’s nice that you’re working for something that’s really starting to work.”

The president praised the troops for their performance in the field, particularly against ISIS, saying, “They say we’ve made more progress against ISIS than they did in years of the previous administration.”

“You’re performing more than 1,000 missions over the skies of Iraq and Syria in the last four months. We’re very, very proud of you,” President Trump said to the Coastguardsmen, and joked with one soldier about facing him in an arm wrestling match.
