President Trump Celebrates “The Largest Tax Decrease in the History of our Country”

During the early hours of the morning, on Saturday, the Senate passed President Trump’s tax reform bill, giving Americans some good news to wake up to.

The massive tax overhaul, which the president called “the largest tax decrease in the history of our country by far,” was passed shortly before three in the morning.

“Out of 52 Republican senators, 51 voted and we ended up doing it and we didn’t need our great vice president to break the tie,” said President Trump, referring to the one holdout, Senator Bob Corker, the only Republican not to vote in favor of the bill.

The president thanked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who took much criticism earlier in the year, when the Senate failed to repeal ObamaCare, and praised him for “shepherding our bill through the Senate.”

President Trump said that he looked forward to signing the finalized bill before Christmas, as the bill heads for its final passage with a conference committee, and thanked House and Senate Republicans for their “hard work and commitment.”

During the vote, not one Democrat voted in favor of the bill, which President Trump said would hurt them in future elections.

“We got no Democrat help, and I think that’s going to cost them very big in the election, because, basically, they voted against tax cuts,” said President Trump.
