Yesterday on “The View” Joy Behar reached a new level of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” when she said directly that the world should trust Putin and Kim Jong-un more than President Trump
I kind of miss the old days when he was friends with dictators, because now that he’s threatening them, I don’t know which one is scarier
We’ve gotten to the point in this world now where we have to rely on the sanity of Kim Jong-un and Putin over the President of the United States
As reported by IJR
A few minutes later, fellow panelist Meghan McCain, the lone conservative on the talk show, said it can be dangerous to suggest there’s a moral equivalence between Trump and a dictator responsible for genocide, like Syria’s Bashar Assad.
“What, you think Kim Jong Un is less moral than Trump? Do you?” Behar asked.
McCain, stunned by her co-host’s question, immediately replied, “Oh, my God. I think Putin’s aiding and abetting Assad right now. Chemical gassing of children — last time I checked, America isn’t doing that to anyone.
“It’s hard for me to sit here with moral relativism about many things with Trump,” McCain continued. “If you think that Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, and Bashar al-Assad, and President Trump are the exact same thing, it’s when you lose all arguments with me in every way.”
Behar tried to clarify by saying she made the suggestion because she sees Putin and Assad “backing off of war” while Trump is “provoking war.”
“Assad would not have the power he has right now if it weren’t for Putin amping him up, giving him military — bombing hospitals,” McCain explained. “Putin did that. Trump didn’t do that.”
