American filmmaker and producer Harvey Weinstein has recently been accused by several women, including actress Ashley Judd, of extreme sexual harassment, and is facing severe backlash.
After news of Weinstein’s behavior became public, several prominent Democrat politicians returned donations from him, however, the DNC doesn’t seem to want to give up their money.
Weinstein has donated generously to Democrats in the past, having given around $800,000 dollars to liberal politicians and organizations, including $246,000 to the DNC itself.
Accusations against the film producer continue to emerge, and Weinstein has been accused of paying off victims to remain silent.
The DNC is reportedly redistributing their donations from Weinstein to several unspecified women’s groups, however that represents only a small percentage of the funds they received from Weinstein.
