Sunday night in Las Vegas, Nevada, an attack by a mass murderer left at least 59 people dead and 527 wounded, in what is being called the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
After learning of the shooting, Haley Geftman-Gold, who worked at CBS as a high-ranking executive in business affairs, used her Facebook account to announce that she had no sympathy for the victims, who she believed were most likely Republicans.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters,” said Geftman-Gold on Facebook.
Although the mainstream media initially ignored the story, it was picked up by smaller conservative news outlets, and the story went viral.
CBS fired Geftman-Gold on the same day, and through a spokesperson, confirmed that her comments lead to her termination.
