The American people are already well aware of why we desperately need to build a border wall between the United States and Mexico, but sadly, on Sunday, we got one more reminder.
While patrolling the Texas/Mexico border this morning, one of our brave heroes, 36-year-old border patrol agent Rogelio Martinez was killed in the line of duty, while responding to suspicious activity.
Martinez, who had worked as a border patrol agent since 2013, and his unidentified partner, were responding to a call, when they were attacked, costing the life of Agent Martinez, and leaving his partner critically wounded.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas was horrified, and issued a statement, sending his condolences to the family of Martinez, and stressing the importance of border security.
“This is a stark reminder of the ongoing threat that an unsecure border poses to the safety of our communities and those charged with defending them,” said Cruz, adding, “We are grateful for the courage and sacrifice of our border agents who have dedicated their lives to keeping us safe.”
“I remain fully committed to working with the Border Patrol to provide them with all the resources they need to safeguard our nation,” Cruz said, additionally, and acting DHS Secretary Elaine Duke called the incident a “tragic event.”
“We are fully supporting the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this tragic event. On behalf of the quarter of a million frontline officers and agents of DHS, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Agent Martinez, and to the agent who is in serious condition,” said Duke.
After witnessing countless deaths of Americans by illegal aliens, whether due to drugs, drunken driving, or violent crime, our country demanded safety, and President Trump is working hard to deliver by building his border wall.
The blood of every one of our fellow Americans who are killed by illegal aliens is on the hands of the obstructionist Democrats, activist judges, and traitors in the GOP, all of whom undermine President Trump at every turn.
